CharmCity HipHop Scene:State of Emergency
"......the city, not yet known for its music scene, looks to flex its wings to be recognized as the next wave in hip-hop".

The State of Hip Hop 2015 and on.............
Hip-Hop/Rap, Club, Trap and ALL music alike.... Where is it going?
More Importantly, Where is it coming from?
Charm city has had an increase of exposure in the past few years.
Yet, is it me or does it seem like the energy has once again began to fade?
In 2013 and even a few years back artist like B Rich, Tim Trees, Bossman, Mullyman, Spank Rock, Soul Canon, G-Rock, Abdu Ali, AL Rogers, Los, YGG Tay, JuegoTheNinety, TT the Artist, Malik Ferraud, have made quite a buzz since 2000 with songs like "Whoa Now" getting recognition on 106 & Park, "Bank Roll" a song by Tim Trees made its way to Def Jam in early 2000. While there was still music being made from that time on the scene sorta went silent as for a while but soon after, artists like Smash who unfortunately is no longer with us, had hit in 2008 with his song "Hypnotized" and in 2009 Baltimore Native Mullyman, had a hit "Go Hard Remix" with a line mentioning Baltimore landed a SPOT on MTV Jam's.
Up until recent times up and coming artist on the underground scene like Lor Chris, Lor Stackks, Davo and newer artist like Da-Vision from the 17 and even artists who are getting alot of exposure with co-signs from Atlanta artist Boosie and Philly's own Meek Mill, Lor Scoota and Young Moose, have made quite a buzz in the city which undoubtedly made its way aboard but.....
There is still the question of what direction Baltimore is headed and where is the new wave of creators of this generation that will set the tone and finally bring a consistency to the city which could keep the Charm in Charm city just that. Will they bring about a want to create real music, music that inspires HOPE and GROWTH or will Baltimore be led like dog and a rope and bred to churn out trend-following repetitive topic with no want or use of imaginative creativity.
You guys tell me what you think.....
Lets back up for a moment because I'm all for artist being authentic and rappers keeping it 1000 as we say about the situations they portray lyrically, yet do you think we should shut off and condense music to only what it already is? Should their be room for dreamers and visionary audio cinema that bring about and create new realities.
Everything we see, the clothes we wear, the cars we drive and the buildings we go to were once just thoughts in the minds of people that decided to do something to bring to reality what we see and hear around us today. Music is the same in its own right an even bigger filled with expression.
As the end of the year approaches , I ask you and myself, has the city lost it's Charm? Are we still in riot recovery? Where is HipHop in Charm City headed?
